i decided to participate in lj idol. i'm still not exactly sure what it is but i've seen it pop up every year for over a decade so why not. i'm hoping it'll at least keep me accountable in updating more so let's fucking goooooo.

hi! i'm kai. this is my intro for lj idol. from what i can gather it is a contest for writers. i wouldn't consider myself an author or anything like that, but i do like to write. grammar & punctuation & capitalizations be dammed. i like things that are stylized so writing like shit is cute to me. Obviously I am also able to write right, as evidenced by my Bachelors of Arts degree in Sociology with a 3.82 GPA from the Ivy League of the South (which i earned while pregnant & parenting a baby), but still i prefer writing that looks like a kindergartener that just picked up a pen for the first time did it & sounds like it is coming from the mouth & mind of someone somewhere sometime else, where Strunk & White don't exist & capitalist white supremacy didn't dictate who & what is worthy of respectability politics. anyways i digress, but all that run on sentence to say i'm not a writer but i like to write. i'm in my mid 30's, queer, latine, a parent to a preschooler, an ex preschool teacher & current sex shop worker. anarchist, abolitionist, all around bad bitch. harm reductionist, drug apologist, reformed punk kid raising a punk kid. ungendered, (un)bothered, hydrated & semi melanated.
